Aet
(or Add) (the sound of an opening door) came to Lampang from Bangkok and
is one of the lucky ones to have survived and escaped the city. He
is a "rescued" male and was born in 1996. Aet can perform
loops and curves that are impossible for others to yet accomplish.
He also varies his strokes both in intensity and length on a single
painting making a very distinctive style. The art of Aet and Wanalee
are prized additions to collections. Leonardo DiCaprio has one of
Aet's paintings. Aet's mahout is Perm who is 30 years old and is married with no
children. The original elephant art
on this page is performed on elephant dung paper, just like the background
of this page. All our art has two forms of authentication visible, a
stamp and an impression.
Colors can vary a little due to many variables. The size is
approximately 21" x 30" and can be framed at that size or
smaller. We recommend a professional do the framing for best results,
but anyone can do it with care. Be sure to visit the Hints & Tips
page to get all the best advice about mounting our art.

Wanna
or "Nice Woman" is a female elephant at the camp in Lampang.
Wanna was born in 1999 and donated to the camp. She has been
painting for about 4 years and is shown here meeting students and
transporting her overnight gear back to camp. Her mahout is Somnut, born in 1965.
He is married to Inwan and has a son. Wanna's painting is usually
done with light, vertical strokes that tend to go from a little left to
the right. The original elephant art on this page is performed on
elephant dung paper, just like the background of this page. Colors
can vary a little due to many variables. During photography of the
paintings the color and texture of the paintings "canvas" is
hard to capture. However, it is identical to the background of this
page which was captured during scanning. The size is approximately
21" x 30" and can be framed at that size or smaller. All
our art has two forms of authentication visible. We recommend
a professional do the framing for best results, but anyone can do it with
care.

Keaw
is a male elephant born at the Thai Elephant Conservation Camp at Lampang
in 1999. He is a born "Ham" and will pose on his own for
photographers. Like most elephants he does not like small animals or
objects near his feet and Keaw will get upset at chickens there.
Sombat Pinjai is Keaw's mahout and has been from the very beginning when
Keaw was born. Sombat was born in 1984, so he and Keaw met when he
was turning 15 They have, pretty much, grown up together. Keaw
will sometimes paint in dabs and sometimes in strokes on traditional art.
Occasionally he will combine the two. Recently Keaw has become very
adept at painting elephants, with a mahout on them or trees in the
painting. He went through
training for this and now can do them on his own with commands only.
There are few elephants that can do this. The original elephant art on
this page is performed on elephant dung paper, just like the background of
this page which is better indicator of background color than when we take
a picture of the painting. Colors can vary a little due to many
variables. The size is approximately 21" x 30" and can be
framed at that size or smaller. See our Hints and Tips page for
framing help. All our art has two forms of
authentication visible, one is a stamp from the elephant training
camp and another is a embossed logo impression.
