Original elephant paintings by elephants at the Thai Elephant Conservation
Center at Lampang, Thailand. This original elephant art is one-of-a-kind. It is completed on
100% elephant
dung paper just like the background of this page. (With the exception
of 4 pieces noted below.) The art is done with water soluble
emulsion paint. Lampang is the only place in the world producing elephant art on elephant dung paper. There is a stamp of authentication on the back giving the
artist's information and there is an impressed logo of the Elephant Camp in the
paper itself. Elephant paintings make great gifts and there is no domestic
shipping charge on any art. All
art comes packed in
its own free EDP tube and has informational data about the elephant artist
inside. Both our suppliers and this company contribute to the
support of Asian elephants through the EDP and art programs. Click the art
below to see full sized views and find ordering information. There is an article
online that further explains the EDP process and how it affects the economy
of Lampang. (See bottom of page for more
information and more art.)

You're welcome Bob, and thank you for ordering Commissioned Art from
Lampang, Thailand.
NEW -
In cooperation with the mahouts and elephants of
Lampang, Thailand we are now able to offer elephant art by
"commission." This "commissioned
painting" will be one-of-a-kind and
executed by the elephant of your choice and done with two main colors of
your choice. You may choose one of two styles; "Traditional
Elephant Art" or "Flower
Art" elephant paintings. Each
piece will have a stamp of authenticity and an impressed logo.
The size of this piece is about 21" X 30" unframed and can be framed
at or below this size. Traditional art is in the landscape mode,
while flower art is in the portrait mode. It will come rolled in a packing
tube/carrying case made of elephant dung paper with a braided handle. Original
elephant art on elephant dung paper. Expect about a three
week delivery direct from Thailand. Pick your artist from those
listed above or at the "Meet the Artists" page.
Specify the artist and the two main colors to
use on your painting during ordering.
List the artist and 2 main colors
during checkout.

Watch a 16 sec. art demonstration by Prathida below .
Note: By nature hand-made Elephant Dung Paper can have small marks and imperfections when used as art paper.
The color of the paper painted upon is number 9 (beige) and the thickness of the art
paper is similar to normal paper for works of art. The
color can be seen at the bottom of
the elephant dung paper page AND as a background on this page, it is cream color.
It should be mounted by a professional for
best results, but can be accomplished by anyone with the proper care.
Mounting the art between glass and a backing is most effective. Be sure to
visit the Hints & Tips page to get all the best advice about mounting this
art. All art work comes in a sturdy
hand-made
tube of Elephant Dung Paper. Art, except commissioned art, will be shipped with an informational
sheet on the "artist" and his handler which will include at least one
picture of the elephant artist if we have one available. (Recently, the
government has raised the cost of elephant art from Thailand. Therefore,
our prices will be slightly higher on future art, but still less than our
competitors.)
